Finding eco-friendly items makes me so happy, and finding these beautiful FLOR tiles was like hitting the jackpot! This FLOR Carpet tiles review will offer everything you need to know to make the right buying decision for your family.
At the risk of sounding like an infomercial, I am going to begin by showing my love for Flor carpet tiles. We don’t rave this much about products here too often, but I’m feeling serious love for Flor these days.
See this carpet tile with those gorgeous birds on it? Well, it recently had a run in with a rather large glass of red wine.
But, look closely. Do you see any red wine stains?
Nope – you don’t! Because there are none!
If you’ve ever spilled a glass of red wine in the middle of a very large rug you know how hard it is to get that stain out.
Same goes for chocolate milk, vomit, urine and so many other yucky things. But with carpet tiles, you just pull up the square, hose it off in the sink and let it drip dry.
After a good rinse, this cream-colored tile looks almost as new as the day we got it five years ago.
With gross messes I can douse the tiles in Biokleen Bac-Out, rinse and dry. Not so easy with a large area rug!
I absolutely swear by carpet tiles. Total advocate here. They are the bomb. We have them in one of our kid’s rooms, the family room, laundry room and entry — heavy use areas that are prone to messes.
FLOR Carpet Tiles Review
Things we love about FLOR carpet tiles are:
- Messes, obviously. You can use just straight water to clean up most stains, quickly and easily.
- Wear and tear. If some get worn out or damaged, you can send them back to Flor and they will be recycled into new tiles. Then you can just order what you need to replace the old ones. We’ve had all of our Flor tiles for five years now, and they are holding up beautifully.
- Responsible manufacturing. FLOR carpet tiles are free from harmful chemicals and made with renewable and recycled materials.
As far as things I did not like?
I seriously could not come up with ANYTHING to not like about these tiles. Even the cost in my opinion is fair for what the brand does. I even did some research to see if I was able to find anyone else saying not so great things about FLOR, but seriously, I came up with nothing.
It is so rare for me to find a product or service I love as much as this one. If there is one smart shopping choice you make for your home – FLOR would be it.
FLOR tiles can be vacuumed like any other carpet you have had. For spills (like wine) – it was easy to clean with a simple blotting of the area with an absorbent cloth and then a quick rinse with some cool water.
If for some reason the above does not get out the spill – they do recommend a non-citrus or solvent cleaner as an option.
The tiles should always be thoroughly dried before placing back in your carpet area.
FLOR’s Sustainability Efforts
One of the things to really love about FLOR is their environmental efforts! They offer a unique Return & Recycle program that allows you to return your old squares so they can recycle them into new products. Just contact them with the number of tiles you will be returning and they will email you a prepaid UPS label.
One of their more recent efforts also includes working with partners from all over the world to use discarded fishing nets into 100% recycled yarn that will be used in new FLOR styles.
